Default Can anyone hear my sighs of despair? SatNav malfunction

Can anyone hear my sighs of despair?
Does anyone know where my sat nav dvd supply fuse is?
Why I hear you ask!
Here goes:
2 weeks ago I bought my first Rover 75 Con 02 plate, loved it.
Then I decided to make it better, foolish!
The car had a perfectly good working Mk4 sat nav unit with 2009 map disk installed and working.
In my infinite wisdom I decided to upgrade the OS to ver 32 and get a new 2010 map disk.
When I tried to install the updated OS it all went pear shaped!!!
Screen went blank, all ICE and other readouts gone.
Turned out I’d already got ver 32.
After a lot of reading on this and other forums, decided to install an earlier OS ver 27.
After a battery disconnect re-boot managed to get back all ICE functions except Sat Nav.

Sat nav DVD unit would not eject disk, so again after reading “how to” I took DVD apart, loosened eject motor and manually wound out CD.

If anyone out there is still awake, this is what’s happening now.

Got back all functions except Sat Nav, not even showing on menu.
DVD now has no Red Power light, only the eject button lights up, but, won’t eject disk, still never mind I can do that now. Ha Ha.

So: Does anyone know where my sat nav dvd supply fuse is?
Does anyone have any idea’s, suggestions, helpful advice?

Other idea’s: Does anyone know how I can turn back time?
Does anyone know where I can get a Gun to shoot myself

Thanks in advance
David

I'm no computer expert but I think I've read that the sat. nav. OS cannot be changed, but I'm probably completely wrong! JohnDotCom is your man for this one.

If the 'eject' button is illuminated then surely there must be a power supply to the unit so the fuse must be intact.

Simon.

Have you considered a Garmin Nuvi 200w? Lovely piece of kit and completely trouble free. Not too expensive either, and you can get a windscreen stickery on fing to go with it. It's brill.

Same problem here, eject button is illuminated and no power supply light.
But i bought mine with no working sat nav.
I also have no power on the "on/off" button of the controls on the radio (low line).
So i am also keeping an eye on this thread.
