Sense has prevailed - Windows 10
I see MS have finally agreed that pushing Windows 10 on people is not such a good idea, in fact they think it's such a bad idea they have just paid $10,000 to someone they forced it on.
http://www.cnet.com/uk/news/microsof...ws-10-install/ Good I hope they get SUED a whole lot more.

I liked Windows 7 but have to say I'm very impressed with Windows 10 the more I use it. Takes a little getting used to, for me it's the layout but it's good. I do agree, that it shouldn't be forced on to people, however.

I spotted the story on BBC text the other day.
"The company dropped its appeal to avoid the expense of further litigation," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement. My immediate thoughts were - Who are they kidding ? the expense of further litigation would be a micro percentage of their profits............. they know they'd lose, and would set a precedent |

It would look bad in the public eye too if MS are appealing against an individual. It will be seen that they are bullying the public. I think they just agreed to take the hit in this particular case.

I use Classic shell with 10 to make it look and feel like 7, but only on my Test PC, my everyday PC is still 7 (and always will be). Every large update to 10 so far has broken Classic Shell and all my customisations, so it becomes a vicious circle, I get my pc working the way I want it to and then MS "fix" it by getting it to run the way they want. Worst of all I have no choice but to install updates, because MS say it is good for me (even when several updates have broken things and they have had to issue patches for the updates). MS say it's a mistake with every update they issue and not by design but it seems very odd that the updates have been resetting MY PC to the way MS want it to be. No other company would get away with this type of behaviour, in fact it is a criminal offence to cause unwanted changes to a 3rd party PC so I'm surprised nobody has sued earlier.
As for One Drive, I definitely don't want all my data under MS control!! and subject to the risk of their servers being hacked (they say it won't happen, tell that to any one of the several large companies that have been) They have also (at best) not been wholly truthful when it comes to Telemetry, Windows 10 reports a LOT more than MS are telling us (Part of my company deals in net security, so we have some very sophisticated monitoring methods)
