Breezy journey
I have just driven 150 miles from home to Powburn in Northumberland for a few days break & have to say this was the most tiring journey i have ever made with the caravan. The wind on the A1 was awful - i never went above 50 mph as the van was being blown about & wouldn't have felt safe going any faster but i was stunned at some of the speeds some caravaners were flying past me with the vans blowing all over the place - these are probably the ones that end up on there sides.
Anyway i am pitched up now on a lovely site and the sun is shining so i am happy. Steve. |

Hi Steve glad your safe, we chose the A1 opposed to the A19 this morning, set off earlier to allow a safer journey. I to stuck at 50 mph max, once or twice I had butterflies but arrived safely after breakfast at Wetherby.
set up on site now but opted to leave the awning for now, to breezy to attempt utter it up. Enjoy your break.

One of the worst feelings when you've got a van on the back and you're waiting for the next gust of wind to come. Puts you on edge and means you are absolutely shattered when you get there - physically and mentally!
Glad to hear you're now safe and sound now though - enjoy your holiday!
