Default 16" union wheels modding

has anyone ever modified the union wheels maybe by removing the thin spokes or maybe painting them black etc

The idea of cutting bits out of wheels, does not sound a good idea to me. However thin the bits are, surely they all add to the tested strength of the wheel, takes bits away, surely you will be weakening them.
Painting though is not a problem.

if you painted the thin ones matt black, they would be harder to see ! So it would look like 5 spokes LOL

may look odd with 16" on a Zt. but dunno as I can never picture things. thats why I have spent a small fortune on my car...changing it, not liking it and changing it to something else LOL must stop.
