Update - I previously wasn't happy with what the insurance company were offering me. They would not budge on their offer. I let it lie for a few days. They've called me a few times to get an update in that period to see if I would accept their offer. I refused again. I was looking at other avenues I could go done including getting in contact with the financial ombudsman. Last night, someone in my family got quite ill and had to go to hospital. Thankfully, they're ok now. But after this, I just could not be bothered with the hassle from the insurance and just wanted to end this added stress that I could do without. They called me again today for an update - I accepted their offer. The car is now a Cat C write off and I got a payout. Not quite as much as I was hoping, but not awful either. I will get payment in the next few days from them. I'm also in two minds about keeping the car now. I think this now puts an end to the matter. I just want to thank everyone who has helped me including everyone that's posted and one other member in particular. They know who they are.
