the bore size is the big hole in the middle that fits over the hub bearing cover not to up on the offset bit but iassume it refers to amount of measurement the wheel is off centre

bore is the size of the hole that fits onto the hub spiggot.
anything bigger than the standard 56.1 will be sloppy. i personally wouldnt fit anything bigger than oem, but many have done without problems. offset affects where the wheel centre is. if its small, it might rub on the indide of the wheel arch or the suspension strut. if its too big, it will stick out of the wheel arch, and therefore be illegal

Bore is the circle in the middle the wheel actually sits on - the nuts / lugs hold the wheel on, but the bore actually holds all the weight. If your wheels have a larger bore than your wheels, theres no contact and all of the weight goes through the bolts which is bad (but many *many* people run like this). Quote:
Having said that, I doubt you'll find something small enough to go from 57.1>56.1, but you could have something custom made. |

yes, rings could be used but like youve said, where are you going to to gat a 1mm spigot ring from?
actually, ive just had a brain wave fit 20 thou shim, or 0.5 mm shim. failing that, use 10 thou of .25mm shim ang go round twice. a 1mm spigot ring would be quite difficult to manufacture

Could your arch liner not be in place properly?
My car has 18" standard wheels, and 225/45/18 proper size tyres - but mine rubs slightly on the arch liner at full lock. I expect that the arch liners come out slightly, and that some tyres are slightly wider than others. |
