Good luck David - I had the double hernia keyhole op about 18 months ago, and I was driving again short distances after 9-10 days, although I think it was 3-4 weeks before I took on a long journey. Take the painkillers and get through the first 3-4 days, and you should be fine.

Hope it went ok for you David and you are back home and recovering well. Being a "veteran" of some 10 op's my self and with my wife's cancer op last year, I know it's no fun recovering from surgery.
