Default How weird is this!

I had a delivery today, some coins i had bought for my collection, i didn't notice at first as i was only interested in the contents of the package, but look at the stamps on the envelope!
1972
1977 silver jubilee
Even the 13 1/2p one is at least 35 years old.
I guess he was clearing out his stamp collection

Very unyorkshirelike.
That lot has got to be worth more than the price of a first class stamp!!
Or rather they were before they got postmarked

It's a shame it didn't get marked today.....
It would've tied the stamp celebrating us joining the EU with the date we started the leaving processes

that reminds me of my grandfather. He sent his brother in Ballymena, (think alleged Scottish tightness, and double it ) a 'christmas card' one year. A single sheet of toilet paper, without a stamp. His brother had to pay to pick it up on top of the bus fare into the town centre

Reminds of the time we visited the gnome centre in Cornwall. We purchased a couple gnome for the kids and asked if they could be wrapped, the lady said she was just helping out but would look for some paper. She came back with a pile of newspapers and wrapped the gnomes up. When we got home the headlines on the newa paper where the sinking of the titanic, president Kennedy assassination and the queens coronation and other memorable headlines.
