Default What would be your next car if you got the funds?

Other car related topic, if you had the funds what would your next car be. ?

I'm still deciding, then again got plenty of time.

I would like too own a Mk1 or Mk3 Granada or a SD1.
SD1's are cheaper too buy as a whole, all depends on the condition of them when I'm ready too buy.

So ladies and gents what would yours be.

If this stays under £1200 I'd have it as a project wish me luck.
can't see it staying at that price surely.

I'm going all electric for my next car Dave, A Nissan Leaf would suit my needs nicely, I don't have any commute or drive long distances anymore, I can charge it overnight on cheap rate electricity (around 3 quid to fully charge it ) You can set the charging/finishing time through a mobile phone app and program it to put the heater on prior to you using it all from your armchair in the house, it'll even send you an email telling you that it's fully charged & what temp it is in the car.
zero road tax and requires virtually zero maintenance because there's only one moving part under the bonnet

I can even plug it in on supermarket chargers while I do the shopping.

Tell you what Ian this looks really high tech and smart all in the same go.

certainly has plenty of options and far cheaper too run all year round as well. Requires zero maintenance now that's going too save a fair bit on repair bills.

I think after buying the probe I'll be going backwards in time lol.
the cars that my dad and the older generation have driven are now becoming the cars that the younger generation want too buy and restore, with me being a classic car enthusiast and willing too take the burden of repair and fuel bills that go along with it I'll do it.

Just simply love tinkering and taking things apart, maintaining them and putting them back together and make them last longer.

I do hope I can get that SD1 to be honest, part of me is jolly exited that could have my very own SD1 for the first time.

Plus I think my dad would get stuck in too this.

Default Thinking.

Thinking of giving the owner a call in a bit, want too snap this up in case it goes any higher then the above price range, going too offer £1000 for it see what he says.

Its worth a shot.

It's not an unreasonable question Dave. In Africa it would have be another 4x4, but with a winch and a snorkel, search lights, a gun safe, long wheel base, a/c, comfortable reclining seats, sat nav and plenty of pulling power and not a V8. Nothing too flashy like a BMW X5, which says "Rob me"

For the UK, an old classic like the Morse Jag would do nicely.

Are you talking toys here Dave,or daily runabout? If it's toys, then SD1, Opel Manta GTE exclusive, coupe, as I had two !antas in the past, Mk1 or Escort RS 2000, Capri 3.0 S or ghia, Mk1 Granada 3 .0, mk2 Granada 2.8 I ghia x, Capri 2.8i, Dolomite Sprint. If daily runner, then another 75 c d t auto, if one comes up that ticks the boxes, failing that then I will probably move to Saab 9-3 or 9-5 diesel auto. I love Volvos and like. BMW 3 series tourer, but the wife hates both, and as she would be the daily driver, she gets the choice. Although if she wanted something I hated, she wouldn't get it.

I can imagine in Africa that the choice of car would be pretty important during day too day life in the country.

The choice of car could be the difference between having one on the drive way or not at all the next day.

Did you say Morse jag.

I'm talking toys and daily drives as well.

You see the cars you owned I would gladly own, they have style back then and still look great now, I like modern cars, but them that you listed, can't forget the Triumph Stag dad loved that.

Funny enough my dad can relate too what your saying about the Wife, he's nodding repeatedly as we speak.

Yet my mrs doesn't drive and yet she controls what I buy.
That's my dad ladies and gentleman.

If we're talking toys and I had the money, then I'd love a Caterham Seven
Either an Autosport Edition

Or a Prisoner Edition

Or even a 'normal' one
