75 ctdi temp gauge issue / air con issue
hi all
the temp gauge on my 75 ctdi keeps jumping between 7 and 9 o'clock - it is lower on a dual carriageway, airflow I think pretty sure it should be consistent at 9 o'clock I have just had the thermostat replaced so not sure where to look now I am concerned my garage just don't know the car well enough any tips would be fab thanks, also can anyone recommend a good garage in kent that knows these cars also, the a/c is cutting out when the vehicle is stationary - you hear it click on and off but it seems to stay on when you are in motion, not sure what to make of this one, just had it re-gassed as well many thanks |

Don't rely on the temperature gauge, check the running temperature using the obd
Here's a wee video to show you how to do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fqH4Jfp04E Once you've checked it, report back, people will be able to help you diagnose any problems better. |

thanks all
thank you for the replies
the fan is not going round at all when the a/c is on i wonder if this could be affecting temp gauge also rather than the thermostat the a/c also sems to be colder on auto at 16 degrees than on lo cuts out ontermittently when car is idle |

You need to fix that then Rich. The condenser needs forced cooling when the car is stationary and the engine idling.
