Default Looking for another car forum

ye gods and little fishes

My daughter has in the last couple of hours bought a 1994 Peugeot 306 from my best mates wife. Driving home a warning light has come on. A Google search does not show the warning light but my daughter has sent a picture and I think it is engine management.

I've had a look for a Peugeot 306 forum but at first glance none seem as good as this forum. Last posts over a week ago.

Anyone good on 306's?

When I was taxiing the boss had a Peugeot 407 (private hire) which had problems with the de-pollution system. I hunted around Peugeot forums and, like you, found them useless!

Good morning Ian
I've had the same problem mate I've recently bought the wife a Honda CR-V diesel and all the forums I've looked at are rubbish
In my younger days I was into pugs- more specifically I had a couple of 205 gtis' and I had about 4 diesel 405s as my dailies
I did find the 205 gti owners club very good though
If you're looking for help with yr kids' 306 I'd advise try there mate
Regards
Chris

Is it a diesel, at that age? With it being a 1994 model, there is no ECU to be worried about - IIRC there are only a couple of wires for the whole thing, one for the starter and one for the fuel pump. So the basics should be checked - low coolant levels, be low oil? Those XUD engines are incredibly robust though (depending on the fuel pump being either Bosch or Lucas, they can run on straight biodiesel or straight vegetable oil!), and spares are relatively cheap & easy to get hold of even today.

anti pollution warning is a fault on the emissions system.i know on the 307 diesel the common thing to cause probs is the egr.me and my bro were on the way to Northampton to fetch the zt when his light came on so just pulled over and unplugged her and back in again and all good till another 10 mile or so then same again.luckily enough there were no more probs on the way back towing the zed 60 mile on a fixed bar with no running engine.that made me sweat a bit
