Cool Being moved to a hospital bed…………

………………………… downstairs. Had Clare from Adult Social Services come in this morning to access my situation. And it’s not good. So I’m going to be moved from upstairs to downstairs. They bringing in a hospital bed and portable loo. I will have carers coming in twice a day to help me dress/undress, help with my cooking, helping me keep clean and basically everything else that they do. And that’s all happening today.

Allen n Val, Marion and Karen came in with my birthday cards, yes today I turn 74, and a couple of presents. Loads of falling down water, which is quite ironic has it was water that caused the issue in the first place but I was sober at the time of the incident.

A phone call from Liskeard Physiotherapist Unit to ask me if I have had an appointment through about a visit to the fracture unit, no appointment as of yet.

So all in all it’s one of my best birthday presents I could wish for.

Good that they are taking care of you Bob but I thought you'd said you were staying with friends in a bungalow. Take it you are back home.

Yes back home. The friends bungalow was ok but the bed was too low to get in out of.

What you old people do to get attention, is totally out of order.

Merry Christmas.

Cool

It took three sturdy blokes to get me down the stairs and into my new bed.

Karen cooked me some dinner, Marion made the tea and the blokes watched on.

My boiler has stopped working, the ignition has failed. So Karen phoned British Gas via call centre in the Far East. Well, it took over an hour of stern words and what it boiled down to is that gas engineers couldn’t come out to work a domestic problem as it was too dark. But they will come out tomorrow between 08.00-13.00.
So I have temporary heating via two electric heaters.

The care assistant arrived at 18.45 and helped me wash, plus my bits. Watched how I used the zimmer frame, pointed out how high needed to bend the damaged leg. She washed up my dinner things and made me a cuppa, pretty young lady who loves her job.

So now I can watch telly from the comfort of my electric bed.

We will see what tomorrow brings.

It's so serious, take care! I've just recover from covid, but still face some negative effects. My brother was ill in the same time and now he was diagnosed with testicular torsion. It was a big shock for both of us. It's not so bad, he just need to take eroxon gel and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
