Thanks for the replies. Looks like I am not the only one. The exhaust removed was actually a Klarius. It has longer exhaust tips! and the hangers are of different lengths.
I found the same as Rich the pipes rotate so it's more or less impossible to get an air tight seal. Clamps do nothing to help! To get the back box slid enough onto the centre pipe requires it to be moved over to the left so its not straight in the tunnel. There is plent of meat left on the flexi tube as well. Excuse the exhaust paste, spread all over whilst messing around trying to get it to seal. So I am stuck with a poorly fitting exhaust that looks stupid and it has cost £130ish. Great Might be a case of going to exhaust place and seeing what they can do with it. Have mailed Euro car parts with this link, see what they think. |

Looking at the photos it needs pulling out about an inch or two.
Heres my ZT 190 after 120k and 9 years that I had...CHAMPION! I would save and buy genuine. Im not a fan of stainless jobbies and learnt my lesson. Last edited by coab; 16th November 2014 at 20:08.. |

I had a Klarius exhaust on my old 75 - seemed to do the job OK. It was a diesel though, and noise isn't really a problem on those.

My car is a 2006 model and the rear box (a Bosal so not original) which came with the car when I bought it in June, rapidly deteriorated so fast that the centre pipe parted company whilst driving on the A12. That was several weeks ago.
I had a rear box fitted at Formula One for £130. Nice and quite with a 2 year guarantee. Not a posh stainless jobbie, but OK for tootling around in. Mine's a diesel, so it is now a damn sight quieter than it was! The original box must have either rotted away or was damaged, necessitate the previous fitment of the Bosal item.

The ZT had a Klarius fitted about a year ago, and it's very agreeable, and quite quiet. The pipes are at a stupid angle, but it wasn't too dear, and if it lasts a few years, then a better one might replace it, or, another Klarius. Certainly one of the quieter pattern exhausts.

I recently had a Klarius fitted to my 1.8T. No problems fitting and very quiet. Looks OEM to me but I'm sure it only has 2-3 yrs before it's rotted through

Such a shame there is no OEM stock left. I have only been happy with the noise levels with the original factory exhaust on V6 Models. No booms just a subtle snarl when you give it some welly. |
