Brochure and Magazine collection
I'm moving my car brochure and Magazine collection from my family home. Reboxing them ready for loft storage.
Got Auto Express issue 1 all the way to several hundred . lots of project Rover articles!! Classic Car Weekly from issue 1 again for several hundred. I collected car brochures during the 80's and 90's as a lad and have 100+ . Got Lotus Carlton preview and Tickford Capri / 280 special. Lots of Audi coupe/Quattro etc Rover Cars range brochures - Skoda / Yugo & Lada ☺ and everything inbetween Is anyone a dealer or know their stuff on this on here? Just wondered if the magazines are worth anything. Last edited by Swordy; 25th April 2017 at 18:57.. |

I used to have 1000's, I couldn't get anyone to buy them. Ended up giving most of them to my local child's playgroup for them to cut and stick. It was a shame, but at least they didn't just go in the bin |

I read an article in the last few months but can't remember where. In it a trader of car brochures and magazines said that prices had plummeted and many traders had just given up as there was little interest in brochures or magazines as people now just referred to the Internet were scanned copies were available on line without the storage issues.
I had many brochures from the 70s and 80s and apart from a few choice ones binned them as from completed listing on eBay they were by and large worthless. Was such a shame as I'd spent many miles on my push bike collecting them. Fond memories but technology moves on |

Shame
That is a shame 😔. It's a real trip back in time reading them especially the Auto Express spy test articles.

Maybe a car museum would be interested in them, for displays.

Its a real sign of the times, a friend went with his wife to look at a new VW, and was told brochures were only available via their website as a download.
Very clever of them as it completely cuts their printing costs but probably of more value they get all your contact details that you have to enter before the digital brochure will download ...... |

Looked at front pages of Auto Express as I repacked them and there were so many Rover/ MG related front pages ...lots of spy prototype test pictures !! Did someone at Rover earn holiday money every so often and send them in
Looking through the Austin Rover and Rover brochures and ive got pre release 800 coupe and lots of project bits like the CCV (Coupe concept vehicle) Paul |

Perhaps re-produce some of those pictures on here.

In my loft somewhere are the first five years or so of Practical Classics mag. Came out in 1980 IIRC. Give it another 30 years and I'm sure they'll be worth something
