If so, that could be the cause of the warning light and the lumpy running.

Excuse my ignorance of engine parts. It's on the top of the black plastic box with injection written on it! Goes into a component with turbo written on it. Think there's a part number of MG-R MHK101040. The wires you mention appear okay.

Ah, that's the inlet manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP). See this for more:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAP_sensor

If the connections here are dodgy, the ECU will receive inappropriate signals that may well upset the fuelling. That's a vital bit of wiring that has to be right. I'd get someone to look at the harness and maybe replace what's necessary.
