Default 2000 Rover 75 Connie SE 2.0 V6 Auto 38,000 miles **SOLD**

Very rare opportunity.

As close to an as new Rover 75 as I think it is possible to get.

This car was owned by a retired uncle of a close friend of mine. The uncle used the car twice per day to go 1 mile to the shops and at the weekend to take the dog for a walk upon which he carefully covered the rear seats with a tartan Rug.

When He died the car was left to his Nephews wife..A running Joke that my mate (the nephew) was always too tight to buy his missus a new Car. The car has remained with My mates wife for many years as part of the family.

My mate then sold the car to me simply because his daughters are learning to drive and they needed a small insurable manual car to learn in.

The pics hopefully speak for themselves..

Virtually as new

To fully inform those who like to find fault I must point out that there is:

1 small scuff on rear bumper.
1 virtually unnoticeable car park dimple on the drivers door

The car is just coming up to 39,000 documented miles.

When I bought the car I found some 17" Meteors which I had fully re-furbished and fitted with Brand new Uniroyal Rainsport 2's. The wheels and tyres have less than 100 miles on them and are as new costing just shy of £800. The original wheels and tyres are also included in the sale.

The car is lovely, and drives as you would expect a 38k mile car to drive.

It has also been fastidiously maintained through its life with regular oil, and filter changes at 3k miles and Cam belt replaced at its service life date, since obviously at only 39k miles it isn't due yet !!

A file of history comes with the car.

I don't intend to advertise the car on e-bay since I would love the car to be bought by an owners club member who will truly appreciate what this car represents.

The car is for sale for £2000, which is probably considered expensive for a run of the mill 2000 model year Rover 75. I think however it is very cheap for such a lovely documented and truly low mileage example which wants for nothing.

I am selling simply because I am not using this lovely car and I have far too many cars on the drive which I am under orders to thin down. I really hope that a proper club enthusiast appreciates what this represents.

Any inspection welcome.

Plate not included in sale.

BUMP.

Car was sold but MOT Fail on upper rear suspension arms...I am not the sort of person that would sell a car in such a state to anyone so now completely repaired with new rear upper arms, re-clipped brake lines to underside.

Car has 39,000 from new and now fully repaired with a full 12 months MOT.

PRICES..

£1200 with Std 15" Wheels
£1500 with Brand new refurb meteors and New tyres (£800 worth)

Wheels and new tyres for sale separately £400 No offers.

Please, no derisory offers this has cost a small fortune to repair properly but the rest of the car deserved nothing less.

Neil.

All credit to you for the car, and your approach in it's maintenance, sale preparation, and prospective sale to a fellow enthusiast rather than otherwise, regards, Mike M.

Hi.
Just read your "spat" on PH. There is just no telling some people that a low mileage, one owner well made exec car for about a grand is a good buy. I nearly fell over at some of the comments comparing the 75 with a Ford Mundano. A friend bought his 03 plate Ford in 2006 for 3k with 86,000 on the clock. FSH and one owner. He must have pumped another 4k into the car just to keep it going and hates it. Only keeps it to get some value back on what he has spent on it. Value now? Lucky to get £500 I reckon.

There must be some ingrained prejudice and ignorance of the Rover name. Why do people think that they are a "specialised" vehicle requiring more checks and maintenance compared with other 10 year old vehicles. ANY 10 year old vehicle will require regular checks etc.

Time you left that PH thread alone before it drives you crazy.

That was me, by the way. I only own a few Rovers.

I wasn't having a go at your car, I hope you realise that. I was trying to give a potential new owner some pointers on things that WILL need checking on a Rover 75 as the mileage clocks up.

That is all.

I'm really surprised this car is yet unsold. What a beauty and top spec, even with a sunroof which I really miss on our 75's

I know what you mean with the rear suspension. I re furbished both front & rear suspension on the diesel and keep a close watch on my low mileage V6. I purchased it at 36500 just over two years ago, it's now at 50,500.

I guess it's just the running costs with fuel and of course full road tax that's putting folk off nowadays.

When I look around our cars are among the oldest in the village but still look like new.

Just picked up on these comments after being away.
Thanks for the comments guys.

The car is lovely and has a lovely history to it. Been ribbing my mate recently over the rear arm corrosion which is now fully sorted. The car has been very well looked after and really deserves someone who will use it much more than I am.

I have a racing habit to feed and the car will be replaced by some racing tyres. not the same but it all helps you to go round in circles

Neil.

Just to make it clear to those who have requested further info....

BELTS. Last done 3 years ago and very low mileage since.

Car also has new springs all round replaced 2 years ago, Another well known 75 issue.

I have never ever struggled to sell such a low mileage, mint car for so little money in my life??
I have a shogun which I will need for the winter (400m up Northumberland hills) 2 cracked springs and a wheel bearing required, Going to cost 1/3 of the Rover..

The engineers aren't in charge of decision making anymore

N.
