Default Offer of 75 Connoisseur 2l v6 auto

I have the chance to buy a 75 in great condition, for its age.
75 Connie 2.0 litre with auto box in silver

Good things about it:

Only 50k on the clock - on 02 plate
Hardly any dings (just a few) on the bodywork - nothing major
Full leather interior
Cruise
Heated seats
6 CD changer
etc

Bad things about it:-
Leaking from somewhere - badly.
Boot has had 4 inches of water in the tyre well.
Carpets sodden and VERY wet (slopping around!)
Wing mirrors slightly scraped and electric control not working.
No service history - indeed, it has not had a service in 16k
At least 2 tyres need replacing
The belts will need replacing (by the way, how much would that cost?)
Very uneconomical around town - 16mpg (is that normal). Although you get 36mpg on a motorway run
Feels a little under-powered, but I am used to driving ZT CDTi

What do you reckon it is worth?

I think that car would need quite a lot spending on it and I would walk away.

To answer your question re the belts It depends who does it but you would need to budget £500 - £600 and if you do better all to the good. Note besides the belts it would be good to replace the water pump, thermostat housing etc whilst it is stripped down .

Finally the 2.0l v6 is a bit slow - personal choice . I have the 2.5 KV6 and that is better.

Sadly very little. You omit to say how much MOT it has, but if it needs belts, (£500 to do properly, you'll probably spend another £300 sorting everything else if it has no history and then probably have a car worth around £450 in open market. How much does he want for it?

Has it got a sunroof? That could explain the massive leak.

Two balloons and a goldfish spring to mind
Seriously, I think you could do a lot better on eBay.

Cloud cuckoo land, unless you are feeling extremely charitable and simply want to save the car. Personally, if you are looking for a V6 to keep, I would look for as early as possible a 2.5 V6 Connoisseur SE auto with as high a spec as possible, with the lowest mileage and the best history, this one is too much money allowing for the amount of work it needs, as prices of these cars haven't started rising (yet).
