I have booked the 75 into Jules on 25th August for the MOT etc., so if it is not sold before, it will come with 13 months MOT to 24th September 2016. As I never let the tank go below half full, it will come with a full tank of diesel.
I am going to advertise it online this weekend. My new car will not be ready until the end of September now, but as I can live without a car for a few weeks, it doesn't worry me if it goes before. Roverite. |

Some interested parties have asked me if the clutch is OK. I know that some people have had problems with clutches and dual mass flywheels, but my personal opinion is that it may be down to driving technique/abuse and possibly more prevalent on the MGs. I have driven all sorts of cars over the last 50 odd years and have only ever had to change clutches because of judder, often due to contamination.
All I can say is, that the clutch hasn't been changed and that the travel and bite points are fine, with no judder, or strange noises. The only thing done in that area was a transmission oil change in the recent past; just a routine service item. Roverite. |

Origianl Clutch CDT 221,000 miles !!!
How about this Colin?
This may put a prospective buyer's mind at rest: This is possibly a National record for clutch life for Rover 75ZT ? (because no one yet on here has come forward with a higher figure) If a clutch can last this long (one owner car from new whom is a personal friend!!) I question whether there is indeed a design fault Driving styles have a big part in how long the hydraulics & plates last. We've never had a slave/master fail on our cars here .............yet !! Current Mileage of friends Tourer CDT Bellhousing showing the OEM plastic pipes to the original slave The wetness around this area is slight spillage from a fuel filter change ! Oh I can forgot to mention, it's also been used for towing !!

That is impressive stuff, from someone who has dealt with nothing else but R40s for years.
Many thanks. Roverite. |

In just over a weeks time I will have been to Jules and got a new MOT for 13 months, to the end of September 2016.
If anybody is interested in seeing the car, I will be at Jules next Tuesday from around 9 am to noon. Roverite. Last edited by Roverite; 19th August 2015 at 15:18.. |
