Default Help needed again please!!

I recently went to change my boot light for an led bulb, as I plugged the bulb in it lit up great then within a matter of seconds it went out including all my interior lights, I have removed the bulb and still my interior lights won't work, if I press the button on the roof cluster they light up but only very very dim. Help me please it's really annoying

Cool

Check fuses under glove box.try holding the centre button on interior light cluster for ten seconds or disconnect battery for half hour to reset BCU.Also some led have to go in one way only.

It sounds like it could be your body control unit which has developed a fault. All the interior lighting is fed from this via fuses 5,8 and 13 in the fuse box behind the glovebox.
Maybe the led failing caused a surge which has damaged the BCU or taken out one of the fuses. Hopefully it's just a fuse

Is it a canbus friendly led bulb ? if so the resistor on board might well be drawing a lot of current, or just be knackered ? try putting the filament bulb back and see what happens.

Interior lights aren't on the canbus system so any led will do

But canbus friendly led's have a resistor which if failing/out of spec/chinese could cause a large current draw, non canbus led's do not, hence the question. so if you ignore any BCU issues (easy things first) then look at the symptoms, boot led not working, interior lights dimming you may have a suspect.

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.
