Update - got around to fitting the EGR bypass last night.

The throttle response is now much better... feels more natural and progressive, like any modern turbodiesel should. It felt held back, and no wonder - pic taken this morning...

Going to enjoy driving for a while, just an exhaust and aircon regas planned for next month... lovely car!

Good job Trev, which bypass did you go for? I'm doing mine shortly. Did you give the manifold a good digging out as well? It will be full of the same crud as the EGR valve.

Hi Ross,

I went for a stainless one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FULL-STAIN...#ht_522wt_1162

It was well made and arrived promptly... everything went as it should.

There was crud in the inlet manifold, dug as much out as I could. Will get the gaskets / o rings required, take the manifold off and do it properly - (had to do it quickly as it was our wedding anniversary !!!)

It seems, with the new tyres (that hold pressure too!) and the EGR valve sorted, that it holds a better MPG under the same conditions, looking at the OBD.

Brim test in progess

Got myself some leather seats!

I bought it from a guy who has a donor connoisseur that he is slowly stripping - I am going back later this month to get the rest of the cream (sandstone?) interior when I get paid..

The Connoisseur seats are SO comfortable!

another £95 well spent!

also got an 'as new' door seal for £10...

More progress.....

Default Proposed boot installation

I've always wanted to do a proper boot installation.

Looking at the poor condition of my boot carpet and side panels I have decided to go ahead and build something in the boot, along these lines...

It will be lined with cream carpet and hopefully have space for my bicycle...

What do you think?

Exciting stuff! I've got a JL10w6 to fit in mine, and a DLS A5. I too was going to box in both sides like you've drawn, although I was also considering mounting the amp upside down under the rear shelf.

Do keep us updated with your progress!!

I did make a start on mine, but couldn't find a route for the power cable into the cabin, I was pushed for time and haven't bothered since. I do miss a high end hifi though!!

Thanks Tom.

Stage one will be to run in the wiring. In a couple of weeks time I'll be taking the whole interior out to fit the cream carpet and centre console.... whilst its all out it makes sense to do a handbrake compensator and sort out some wiring. My local motor factors has a 5m 30amp kit (Phono, live and earth cables) for £20...

This may take a while. Annoyingly I had a 10" kenwood sub and a decent amp until a couple of months ago when I sold it for £20.

Not wanting to wake the neighbours but it would be nice to have some proper base to take the pressure off the OEM door speakers.

It will be made out of 2"x2" timber and 10 or 12 mm MDF...

Cant wait for it to be up and running...

Latest addition - New Grille - Thanks to PhilJudo

What do you think?

The sandstone interior is partially installed... Managed to break the wire in the steering wheel so I have no airbag or Horn until I replace it GRRRR...

Carpets and centre console are coming out next weekend.... going to install a 360W (30A) amp wiring kit whilst its all out, then I need to put it all back in properly...

At least the welding is done on the sill - they did a great job at Carlton Motors in Gloucester - cant see a repair!
