Re the second battery and non-OEM ones
I liked the sound of Duracell for our recently purchased Nikon D5500, especially at around £25 as opposed to more like £40 for OEM. However, on reading reviews on these on Amazon, it seems that some just don't work with comments like "Message on screen to use an authorised battery. Apparently the latest firmware has stopped third party batteries working" and "Not compatible with latest firmware" Seems like this might be a bit of a lottery, depending on camera and firmware, so like buying printer cartridges that are not OEM perhaps? I'd like a second battery for our camera, but might have to hang on for an OEM!
