running bad
hi
my rover 75 2.0cdti started making a odd noise in the engine bay last night while i was parked up for a kfc and then went quite and today i filled up with fuel and its reading half full then on way home got this horrible noise again and the fuel gauge dropped to just above empty and i parded up and the thing conected to the bottom off the engine connected to the belt was spinning then popping out and the engine would go lumpy . any ideas would be great . going to get a manul if halfords got one before i go to a garage |

It sounds as though it could be the crank-pulley. There are a number of threads on here describing the noise of a failing crank-pulley - some with videos. If it is the crank-pulley, the recommended replacement is made by Corteco and can sourced from Island 4X4.
