No car TV reception. Best aerial?
Having now installed my double din and freeview box, I have found that the supplied aerial is no good whatsoever in this area. I can't receive a single channel. I connected an indoor amplified aerial to the box and received around half the channels, so it isn't the freeview box, just a rubbish reception around here.
So, can anyone point me in the right direction for the best DVB-T car aerial on the market? Has anyone else come across the same problem and if so, what do you use?

Where I live I have excellent reception with the small aerial supplied with the freeview box, but further afield the signals are lost and can't be retuned. First solution is wait until the switchover is complete and signal strengths are boosted nationwide or I have been considering the above. Feedback on the product appears positive but I would very much like to hear from members who have already installed a booster aerial.

Hi Tony. I have looked at that myself and come to the conclusion that it would look rather big and ugly on the parcel shelf!! I would hate to spend that sort of money on it, only to find that it is completely useless in the boot. I have sent you an email about another matter!
Parker, I have looked at that too and I may go for that, but I would have also preferred to hear from other members first. I may have to be the guinea pig!!

LOL - yes I agree I'm tempted but would like some serious feedback too. I think that may well appear on my Xmas list for Santa

Freeview Aerial
In the London area I receive all the freeview channels with no problem provided that the supplied aerial is in the front or rear window area or, better still, on the roof. I would not expect to receive as good a signal in the boot! I hope that members are right when they say the signal will be
boosted countrywide when the time comes but it seems to me that the obvious place for the aerial is on the roof. There must be some suitable ones out there surely and fitting one would be quite simple by way of the rear interior light. After the first week you wouldn't even notice it. |

The signals when boosted in areas of Pembrookeshire that went Digital didn't seem to bring the promised improvements.
I am not getting a bad picture at all with digital and the best thing is a Tuner with twin inputs and feeds, this seems to cure poor reception, but Aerials/Tuners can be expensive for this. |
