Default Worked a treat!

Okey dokey, Couldn't get the white clip off (for what must be the electric mirrors), but managed to brutally unclip the bottom off, and clean the contacts on the rubber and circuit board with turps (only white spirit i had around).

Job done, mirrors work like new.

Just one quick question mind, what's that bottom button for below the window switches?

Thanks again for the fantastic info - just saved myself a trip to the scrap yard!

Just a note: Tesco Club card worked a treat, mind you it's rather dead now - so don't be using the bank card eh )

The bottom button is to lock the back windows so the kids can't bail out!

Colvert.
All models of 75's produced had electrically heated and adjustable mirrors.

Only the powerfolding mirrors were a cost option.

Okay, i have a similar problem in that my passenger mirror will not adjust in any direction but the drivers side works!

Before anyone says its gotta be the contacts...if it were the contacts, then even the drivers side would not work either! And the same goes for the fuses, they are ok as the drivers side works.

The button for selecting the passenger side lights up but there is nothing.

Ive even bought a new switch pack in case there was an internal problem with that, but the problem still persists.

Am i looking at maybe a duff mirror unit?

Maybe check you are getting voltage to the motors in the mirror, before assuming that.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Default Rover 75 CDTi Mirrors Not Working

Hello

I read with interest the previous suggestion to dismantle the door switch and clean the contacts with white spirits, as dirty contacts can be the cause of the mirrors not working. I had a go today and hey presto the mirrors are now working fine. This was such an easy process, no more than 10 minutes work, I would recommend this procedure as a first step. The electric windows worked fine before cleaning ruling out a blown fuse.

Thanks to the information which has saved me loads of money!!!!

Thanks to the people on this forum and the advice they give, just fixed my mirror control switch, dismantled it and cleaned up the contacts with the little rubber at the end of a pencil, I am most certainly P.A.P.{pleased as Punch}, and H.A.L. (happy as Larry).

Worked for me.
Got the button housing box thing out of the door using a old credit card
Next set of clips were abit annoying, unclipped the bigger ones first then realised it was the smaller ones I needed to do which were abit stiff but popped open in the end
Quick wipe with a cotton bud dipped in nail varnish remover then dried off with cotton wool.
Both now work perfect!
I bet if I had gone to a garage I would have needed new mirrors, buttons, fuses & wiring lol!
