Default Advice on a Radio please

Today I purchased a Radio from the Car Boot Sale; now I know it is a fairly modern item made with a 'Retro Look' but I like it, and for a mere £5 I bought it,

Now my son says it need a new Volume Pot, as when you touch the volume knob it crackles and distorts (badly)

So is it easy to change?

Where can I get one?

How much are they?

here is the radio, the model, and the offending pot

Hi Keith,

I'd get a tin of switch cleaner first, spray the back of the switch and vigorously turn it back and forth and see if the problem clears.
Could just be dust in the switch causing the problem.

If not, I have plenty of potentiometers in stock and can post one out to you

Hi.
As Jeff says a blast with contact cleaner should do the trick.
Believe it of not my old pal bought one at a boot sale yesterday for a quid and it had the same fault. Simple little two Chip receiver, TRF on AM but reasonable on FM. TBH I told him that if the control was duff it probably wasn't worth the time on it, at a fiver though its a different kettle of fish

If the spray doesn't work then try soldering the joints and if that doesnt work a new variable resitor pot can be bought at Maplins for not much. Ensure the resistance is the same though.
