Default Cdt cut out

And has refused to start again. It had 1/4 tank of fuel at the time, I put 5 litres in and it still refuses to start. I have replaced both fuel pumps within last year. I can hear at least one of the pumps so don't think it's them. I will check both tomorrow. Beyond the fuel pumps what should I be looking at? Thanks

Thanks will do. We are selling our house soon, everything is going into storage until we find another house. I do need to get this going again as soon as. Managed to get the mg tf out of the garage and successfully moted yesterday, so do have wheels to use. Our main car is at our place in France. Things do tend to happen at the worst possible time! Off up to Cumbria for a few days looking for a new house. Fingers crossed mg is up for it.

As for the rover I'm hoping it's not a fuel injection problem. It has to be running by end of next week.

Thanks for the help

Unplugged the fuel filter electrical connection and took the battery off for I hr. Still won't start. Have ordered a new fuel filter as I've never changed it. Heading off in the mg for a couple of days so fixing the rover will have to wait.

hi
i've now checked the plenums, all dry including ecu. Both fuel pumps making a noise, fuel is coming out of the fuel filter outlet with ignition on and pumps working.

what to try next?

leak off pipes from the injectors?

anything to dismantle and clean on high pressure fuel pump?

can I test the electrical side of fuel injection?

I've never had fuel injection problem in 25 years of running diesels, help!

just need to be pointed in right direction.

thanks

Next is the high pressure fuel sensor, if the system does not reach the recommended pressure then the engine will not fire.
Break and make the plug a few times, then remove it and ensure the opening is clear and the o-ring is intact...

thanks Klarzy.com, i've unplugged it and cleaned it with electrical cleaner, still no start. Will take it out later if I can find a long socket. I'm having to pop out to watch grandkids at the velodrome, will resume after tea. Can you give me the tests I should do next after this, in the correct order? The vehicle is an '03 and done about 92k, its had a fsh.

I do appreciate your help.

How about the sensor/regulator thingy on the back of the High Pressure pump ?
Can never remember what it is called

I had a similar thing on mine ran all day stopped it and then would not start again,Turned out to be a small "O" ring had split on said sensor/regulator.

Have you tried a sniff of Easy-Start see if it will run It was the only way I could start mine until I found the problem.

Hi
going to take fuel pressure regulator off tomorrow and have a look. I've read about a filter in there to clean as well. Can you confirm that should be done as well as replace the seals. Thanks for the replies.
