Default Gearbox mount threads

Whats best way to repair the threads on top of gearbox.only got 2 decent ones holding at the moment.ive tried retapping em,but just aint enough meat.thought of oversize bolts but worried incase it all cracks or summat.

I fixed mine with Helicoils - give a good firm fixing. You can get mobile helicoil experts to come to your house to do it for you, if you do not want to DIY it.

+1 for a Helicoil - the metal is quite soft, so not bad to do at all.

+2 for Helicoils. Often use them at work. Quick and easy to install and stronger than the original thread.

M12 x 1.75

You will need some good 12.5 mm drill bits, and a decent tap wrench.
