Default OEM head units start up volume.

The volume on Rover OEM head units automatically adjusts to very low on start up (not just 75/ZT's).

Can this be changed to a higher volume when starting up? Just a minor niggle really but if it could be set to a more 'normal' volume it would save the need to alter it every time

Yeah, I've got the CD80 and it's annoying me so much, it won't remember the last used volume.

If anyone knows how to stop it resetting the volume, I'd be very grateful.

Which unit do you have Mick?
My Harmony doesn't do that, it starts up at the volume it was last at.

The Ivox CD80 and CR80 should remember the volume level from switch off to switch on.

When it fails to remember the volume setting then the internal battery is on it's way out.

A repair could be more expensive than a replacement radio although I would not replace with another Ivox.

MG Rover replaced the Ivox radios with VDO units, these are a little better.

And worse news is that the next stage is for your IVO to require the code inserted every morning.

Ahh, not a good sign, thanks Dave. Well, it is 11 years old so I suppose it's done well. Ok so I'll put a new head unit on my list, and whilst doing so I might as well upgrade the speakers. . . .

There's an option to set initial volume on the cd80 when you scroll through the settings. Worked for me.
Just need to get it to play CDs now...

I just hope your radio remembers the volume setting when you switch on tomorrow.

MG Rover replaced hundreds of the Ivox units for the loss of memory.

Good luck with yours.

Well good news, it remembers the start up volume once set

Many thanks for your advice,
Ali.
