I'm changing the plugs on my 1.8T today, it's been a few months since this thread started - how have your cars been with the gap set at .5mm? No adverse effects?

i have the misfire on my 1.8 connie and have had for some time so i set the gap to 0.5 today and i couldnt get the bl**dy thing to run at all.so i have reset to 0.7 and all is well no misfire at last.thanks to all the posters on this subject.

Humm I have a power loss / stutter at certain rpm ranges ....mi did the turbo pipes at the weekend which has improved things but still the odd stutter ....
My initial thoughts where a coil breaking down but maybe I will just check the plugs ..... Or even just pick up new ones and try gaping to 0.5 mm and see what happens

Personally I think 0.5mm is too small a gap.
Mine are gapped to 0.8mm and its spot on. |
