Clutch LUK
Has anyone come across AP clutches in LUK boxes?
Today I removed the clutch from my diesel tourer with the help in the end from forum member Biffa75. He’s as puzzled as I am. Firstly everything was done up way too tight.thats the reason for failure. When I had it done at a garage in 2019 they said it had a 3 piece LUK kit fitted states that on the paperwork too. But upon removal today the clutch cover is AP and the friction plate has a very odd old sticker saying SCHAEFFLER AAM GERMANY this may be LUK we don’t know as that’s all it says. The slave is also unbranded with a date of 2016 on it. Has anyone ever come across this before? Thank you Josh

Plenty of times - the same is true of the L Series clutch kits sold by LUK. They're all AP branded within the box.
The LUK Slave Cylinder will have AP stamped where one of the pipes enters the plastic slave body.
