Default abs fault finding

right got new senser today and as i understood it if plugged into each corner that when i got to the faulty senser the abs light would go of on the self test have i got this right.

also are the abs modules coded to the car ie if i fit the same spec unit if it goes onto t4 will it flag up the none origanal part

just tryed plugging it in the same on helens tourer and light goes of hit around 10mph light comes on as expected so by the looks of it i could have 2 faulty sensors on my car great fun aint it

Check them using a multi-meter its the quickest and easiest way of testing.

well upto yet rulled the new front one out that works ok on helens just replacing a back one as broke it lol will get volt meter out as will test the continuity to all 4 corners as well to rule it out

If the speedo is working then the o/s front is o.k. If you unplug each one of the others at the bayonet connector one at a time the light will go out when you get to the faulty one. To be clear undo one, check if light is still on, connect up again and move to next and same again. The light will come back on as soon as you move the car but you will know which is faulty. When mine went it was n/s front so I bought a full set of aftermaket, replaced one front, perfect. I have one front and 2 rears spare at £12 each inc. post if interested. They are not coded to the car and do not show on T4. Hope this helps.

are you sure you have it right about unplugging the sensers one at a time as helens when one is unplugged brings on the light.

i have just had the volt meter on each corner and for one or 2 seconds im getting 10. odd volts then it drops down to zero so assuming this will rule out the loom as being faulty

well strange its now seems to have sorted itself out so ither there is a dodgy wire into one of the plugs or the one rear i changed has now made it ok will see tomorrow when i go to work if its sorted lol
