Hi.
It's all down to what anyone is going to use a pressure washer for.
Occasional car washing and tidying up the decking or monoblock a half decent mains operated domestic machine will be fine. Karcher "K" series domestic machines work OK but have reliability issues, they use a plastic head and valves and the auto switch off come unloader wears out. This initially is seen as a reduction in pressure as the plastic parts wear, the head can also crack and they are very delicate and split in frost.
Nilfisk Alto domestic machines are more robust with a Brass head and proper valves, the auto stop and unloader is little different to those fitted in professional machines.

For car valeting or the cleaning of premises that handle food don't consider any domestic machine, a hot water pressure washer is required, the older Karcher 745 was a brilliant machine but the newer 720 has too much electronics involved with is un-necessary, the pump is smaller so the motor speed on these is 2800rpm to compensate, a bigger and slower pump (1450rpm) as in the older 745 is far more reliable.
Again I'd recommend Nilfisk Also the blue range, the Neptune 4 or 5, they are available in single and three phase, the bigger Neptunes give up to 200 bar running pressure.

Petrol/diesel machines again are hugely variable. So many come with Honda copies, mostly the old OHV unit is copied but it is so soft it's scandalous. Bore and ring wear is common, eventually they wont start due to low compression, the other issue is the output shaft to the pump, the case hardening is a joke, the woodruff keyway wears and eventually there is no drive, again the engine is scrap as a Honda crank wont fit and there is no parts for these copies.
The tiny little pumps too are short lived.
Anything with an Interpump will use a genuine Honda engine but they dont come cheap, remember the adage "buy cheap buy twice"
For professional use cleaning monoblock walls etc you need a turbo nozzle.
Any help just ask.
