A bit peeved
My zed has been running like a well oiled sewing machine for the last 10 month, then 2 weeks ago I checked the coolant level and it was down a bit so I topped,it up and checked the oil cap for any mayo, there wasnt, it was nice and clean.
Coolant level checked daily and its ok,so today I checked the coolant again and I had to put about a litre and a half in, then checked the oil cap and theres some mayo in there, fantastic, just what I wanted to see I think my first port of call will be the img. If it is the hg then I think it will have to go to car heaven as its not the sort of job I want to tackle this time of year. Strangely enough my first thought when I saw the mayo in the filler cap was "I wish I still had my 827" |

If you do a lot of shortish journeys, especially now it's cold can result in Mayo under the Cap... Not necessarily HGF - very uncommon on the V6 - not impossible, just un-common.
And as Cononite states, check Thermostat.

I know the O rings need changing on the cap so could this be the cause? I checked the "V" earlier and its bone dry with no sign of any leakage. |

Possibly a worn 'O' ring on the elbow on the top left of the radiator if you look from the front.
