I've had a standard transferable Trafficmaster for years. At first I thought it was great, but with experience over 2 or 3 years I changed my mind. Not only is the constant repeating of messages, which don't actually apply to you, very annoying, but the inaccuracy of the warnings finally destroys your faith in it.
Many times I was told of long delays ahead that made me leave motorways and re-enter at the next junction only to find the traffic flowing freely, so I was the only one delayed. At other times there was no warning and I got stuck in traffic jams. Now I no longer use it.

I installed mine a few months ago.

Every time I have had a message it was either my lane or the oncoming one that was affected but it's always been of use even if just for a warning of delays.

Nothing is perfect and it's easy enough to add a on/off switch.
