Default 1.8 Turbo Question

Hi,

Since having my head done, Im convinced the car isnt as pokey as it once was, and I know your not supposed to hear the turbo, but I did used to hear it.

Now, I dont feel anything or hear anything, its as if it went in a 1.8T and has come out as a 1.8, the turbo is there as I can see it

Is actually possible to drive the car and not have the turbo do anything? as if its not being called up for use?

Hope that makes sense
Simon

Default Turbo

You really need to get it on a diagnostic machine and check the turbo boost

after HGF when water is mixed with oil this can cause problems with the bearings and the splines in the turbo unit..best have it checked out.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but it has been mentioned that the turbo cant be heard, when The Boss has hers kick in and takes off I hear a kind of faint sucking whining sound...She is running fine but I thought I would mention it, is this normal?.

Cheers
Tony

It is normal to hear the 'Whoosh' noise and some times the wastegate chatter, although not usually very loud
