Default roof bars rover 75 saloon

Hi all,

Was lucky enough to get my hands on some genuine rover 75 saloon roof bars, but not too sure what the four little half moon loops are used for, any advice would be appreciated, also the bars seem quite wide to fit any u bolts under/around the bars to anchor the roof box?.

Not sure what you mean but taking the covers off the bars reveal the screws which go into the threads covered by the black plastic covers on your roof line.

Never seen those before but looking at the base they may slide into the track which has the rubber cover on.

I'm a bit slow today. See what you are saying now. Can only suggest they are moving strap tie to take bungies or rope. Due to the plastic design not good for high strain needs though. Not sure if you know, you cna get different types of kit for your bars. I sold my bars when I got the tourer but kept the roof tray as it fits any Thule set up. I've got Thrule cross bars which take the items I had for the saloon bars.

oh ok so just for light use to rope something down sounds about right, but as the bars are quite wide need some very wide u bolts to attach to roof.

The box I used for both is the Thule box which have a pincer which screws down onto the bar for a perfect fit.

Where in Surrey are you?
