Only one ZTT made in Sunspot Yellow as well. And One Rover 75 plus not forgetting the 4 ZT's. Mine is No.3 in Sunspot.

Great ZT, but I think its too high on the price!
My last ZT was a 02 190 in Celestial which was only 1 of only 7 190s in this colour and I think it was the only one ordered from new with lpg. I wrote it off last Oct and my insurance company offered £1500, after telling them how rare it was etc they came back with £2500 which they said was the very max that 2002 ZTs sell for. Good luck with the sell.

Hi Simon H - we're getting a lot of interesting comments and revelations on colours and how amazingly few ZT / ZT-Ts there are in certain colours. Makes one wonder why they bothered to open the paint tins (to say nothing of the manufacturing costs of tooling up for very short runs).
Glad to see you got a relatively good price for your car - of course, mine's the estate and therefore 'automatically' worth more... especially as it's in such good condition. Regards, Peter Mann |

If you believe that's what it's worth stick at it
advertise it in as many places and you can with lots of good pictures and as much detail as you can And you just never know good luck with the sale it looks a stunning car |

I am usually the first person to argue with people that say that a car is advertised for too much money
However, on this occasion I would be taking the advise on board and deciding if you still want to sell. It may well be a rare colour and an estate, but a V6 with almost 130,000 miles on the clock just isn't going to make that kind of money I'm afraid. This is an owners club and if someone wanted it badly, then you may get a little more than market value, but at £3750.00 you car will be for sale for a very long time. It's your car though, so you must do what you think is right.

2002 MG ZT-T+ 190 estate, V6 2.5 petrol - Trophy Yellow (which makes it very rare)
I'm loving all this advice - please keep it coming! Thank you Petetourer and Le Mans 190 for sharing your thoughts.
I appreciate price is a sensitive issue, but one of the advantages of a - the - V6 engine is it has a pretty relaxed life. 70 mph in top is what, 3,500 rev/min? Added to that the key things of the car being in first class nick (because I've been prepared to invest in putting right faults which should have been designed out before the car ever went into production), because it's an estate and, yes, because (as I now know) it's one of only 26. It's a lovely car and I hope you sell it. It might be worth for the price having the seat repaired,a new badge on the front and the exhaust aligned correctly in the rear bumper or an genuine OEM one fitted.

The rarity of the colour didn't help with my cars, production run of only 500, only 5 made in that particular colour, 2 were exported which left 3 in the UK, we had 2 of them (his & hers) which left only 1 other S1 Lotus Exige in the UK with the same colour.
They both sold for exactly the same price as all the others |

Nebrog23 - good advice, thank you... particularly about the seat and badge.
Do you know where's best to go to have the seat fixed? And how long do such things take? Ideally it wants to be in my part of the world (south Cambridgeshire) and done while I wait (I'd take my laptop so I can work!). Badge from Rimmer Brothers? When the s/s exhaust was first fitted (by Herts Auto Tek, Knebworth, Hertfordshire, it was marginally lower, but it was a bit too noisy inside the car - my family soon complained - so I had an extra box added to the back end, which created the higher line; it is central, though. These photos were taken when the exhaust fitted (before the addition of an extra box): HertsAutoTek-Longlife exhaust - 30-1-13--6--500 px.jpg MG ZT-T - January 2013 - new s-s exhaust [IMG_1774] - 500 px deepjpg.jpg Peter Mann |
