Default Mobile Car Kits in a ZT

Anyone got the nokia 616 car kit with the handset shown in the picture?

Just wondering where to put the handset without it looking odd! It seems to have to mount flat against the surface as there is no angled bracket available. I could probably make something but just wondered if any of you guys had one installed.

Hi Monk,
I have a mount from this company
http://shop.dashmount.co.uk/consoles/rover.asp in my 75, scroll down to item no. 871431.

The picture is a little deceiving, it sits on the left hand side astride the well under the cigarette lighter and is angled towards you.

HTH

Dont suppose you have a picture of yours fitted do you? Does it not fit over the edge of the glovebox then like in the picture?

The mounting bracket for the handset is just above the halfway point. I dont want it to foul on the centre console making it looked crammed on.

No it doesn't fit on the edge of glove box picture is deceiving.
Haven't a picture handy but can probably rustle one up tomorrow pm, (working in the morning) if your still interested.

It looks quite tidy, only thing is I can't remember if it fouls the cup holder, not that I use it.

To be honest I was looking for something to look as if it might have come with the car, the sandstone leather matched pretty near spot on.

Will sort out pic t'morrow maybe give you a better idea.

Hi Monk,

Here are pics as requested

Easy to fit, drill a couple of holes to match your phone holder screws or small nuts and bolts to secure, the consul secures by a fold under clip, I use Bluetooth so no wires looks tidy I think. Gawd I sound like an advert.

Unfortunately it does obscure the cup holder opening, but I don't use it so not a problem.

That does look nice! I think I will try one of those! Thanks for the pictues. Do you know what material is inside to screw into? I need a secure fixing to secure the phone holder as the phone is fixed on quite tightly so some force would be put on the bracket?

I pretty sure it's fibreglass if you need it fairly sturdy I would go with small nuts, bolts and washers possibly M3 or M4.
