Best avenue is to look at the live data on T4 Shaun, where in North Yorkshire are you, I may be popping down to Thirsk in the next couple of days

Hi all

I have the same problem.
Drilled out the old sensor replaced with new one.
Now the warning light turns off, but the speedo is fluctuating and the ABS kicks in at low speeds.

The ABS system do a "self check" when ignition is put on. And since the light goes out, all the sensors must be OK. This leads me to the conclusion that the sensor ring must be the faulty one. And since the Bosch 5.7 ABS system uses hall effect sensors rader that inductive, the sensor ring is not a "tooth ring" that can be cleaned.

My question is then, does any of you guys know if this ring can be renewed without changing the bearing?

I recently had a problem with one of the rear ABS sensors. The first sensor I bought still left me with a problem, so I bought a new bearing from DMGRS. Fitted the bearing only to find the problem was still there. Suspecting that I hadn't got the sensor close enough to the Hall effect ring on the bearing, I took some material off the sensor. Unfortunately I damaged the Hall effect ring. In the end it turned out that the new sensor I bought was itself faulty, and so I put yet another sensor back with my old bearing and all was well again.

I am now stuck with a brand new bearing but without its Hall effect ring on. It is just stuck onto the bearing, and if I could get another one and stick it on, it would be great. I contacted Mat at DMGRS but he said that he couldn't source these separately. My bearing is from FAG, so when I get the time i'm going to contact them to see if they sell the rings, but I don't hold out much hope of getting one.

Anyone want a new bearing without the ABS ring????
