cheers Jeff, whilst waiting for a reply I went out and traced the wiring out and figured it was the red plug so a snip and botch was performed and hey presto the steering wheel controls work now.

Glad to know it's not just me emigrating to Budapest

If you bring it along to the New Inn on Sunday, we could have a go at installing it then if you fancy some fun. Can't hurt to try. Worse case scenario is it goes back to Egham with you still in its box!

Many thanks Clif, unfortunately I don't have the car it is having the offside sill repaired, apparently a real big botch job by someone in the past, the garage has taken pictures of it and they have put the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- in a box for me to see.

Well we are half installed so first impressions and a couple of queries.
  • Radio - just worked.
  • Bluetooth - connected first time to Samsung phone with no issues and apparently sounds OK at the other end.
  • 3G Dongle - connected and working
  • Front DVR Connected and working.
  • "long-press" settings for Steering wheel control is brilliant - I have set the centre button to be the phone, so press and hold and it jumps to dialler screen.
  • Boot up time - stunning!

On to the queries:
  • I cannot see how to limit how much of the memory card it uses for the DVR. I feel sure there must be a setting somewhere but can't find it yet.
  • What can I safely plug into the front mini-usb socket?
  • The mp3 player seems to only categorise music into albums - no by artist etc. Fortunately the animated "graphic equaliser" animation can be turned off, but it seems to display the album art spinning like a CD - its an MP3 not a CD so why do that I wonder? There are loads of MP3 players available so this can easily be overridden. Has anyone found a really good one to download?

Tomorrow is get camera connected properly and Sat Nav etc .

Thanks to Sean and Jeff. So far very pleased.

Default All OK except IGO

Mostly working nicely, but IGO problems I am afraid.

Whenever it starts it tries to continue a route to Budapest. (see pic 1)

If you then select cancel it shows a screen that says the "Start point has disabled the GPS receiver" (pic 2). To the right of that message is an option to "Delete Start Point" and if you select that you get a confirmation screen (pic 3). The GPS then works OK and you can plan routes etc as normal.

So I thought - reset all the IGO options. Same result.

So I thought uninstall and re-install IGO. So found the option in setting to remove it. Used APK installer to reinstall it and during the re-install I get several odd messages ..

"Missing or incomplete folder: /storage/187dDe552/Europe/iGO/license.zip:/storage/187d-E552
/Europe/iGO/license.zip: open failed: EACCESS (Permission denied)

If you OK that message than another message:

User Interface resolution [1024*536] is not supported or skin can not be found . Exiting application.

If you then shut down and restart iGO it works, but we are back to the start point in Budapest problem.

I have been round the loop several times, - reinstalled I think 3 times and same result each time.

Does this sounds like a corrupt SD card, its all I can think of! I am happy to try any suggestions!

Thanks

Mike

Hello Mike

Several of us have this problem so far. I believe Sean is looking into it, but you are not alone and therefore your card is not faulty.

Cheers

Thanks Stuart I thought I was going crazy for a while.

I meant to mention I cannot get the TTS voices working with it either, and the skin GAJK that worked well on the NAV 3 did not seem to be there. But if one bit is not working this could well be another symptom of the same underlying problem.

It sounds like a configuration problem then, no doubt it will become clear quite soon.

One for next week!
