Default Symphony -> Hi Line FM diversity amp

I did some searching on this but didn't come up with something conclusive so here it goes:

Does the FM radio diversity amp used for the Symphony also work with the Hi Line radio or does it need to be replaced? The SMB connector looks the same...

Default Symphony -> Hi Line FM diversity amp

Hi Erik..
When I fitted the HI Line sat nav system I changed my amp..
The Symphony only uses 2 connections to the HRW. The Hi Line system uses 4 connections..

Have a look at the above thread..

First, as in picture 8 I connected terminals 5 and 7 to the Earth wires and,, Yes the radio signal much improved..
So 1 and 3 terminals are connected to the original HRW radio screen connections..
5 and 7 are connected to the Earth point wires..

I don't really care for the TV stuff but I basically need to mess with the amplifier and rear window if I want decent reception? Not exactly what I wanted to hear.

Anyone who knows the part number for the hi line FM diversity amp? I found some e46 ones on ebay and they look very much like the one shown in Keith's howto:

BMW e46 diversity amp on ebay

The only difference that I can spot would be the colour. Might they be compatible?

Just stumbled over this:

http://austin-rover.co.uk/downloads/drive_06.pdf

It would seem that pre late 2001 Symphony equipped cars had the same diversity amp as the Hi Line system, namely the one depicted in Keith's photo and then project drive killed it. My car is a 1999 model so it stands to reason that I do not need a new aerial amp.

Subsequent question: I am a lazy ****** so can pretty please someone tell me what kind of connector is used for the main antenna cable (the one with the yellow thing on it in Keits pic above)? BNC? Regular TV style? Something else?

Bonus points will be awarded for telling me the impedance for the diversity cable. The main antenna cable I assume is 50 ohm.
