Retrofitting HK to ZT with wince 6 unit
Hi everyone!
My ZT had a standard single din CD player which has been replaced with a Wince 6 unit. I have managed to get a HK Highline loom which will be fitted over christmas. Now my understanding that this is not a straight forward plug and play for the HK to work with the headunit. Can someone advise what action needs to be taken to get the HK and Headunit working together. Am i better holding out for a non Highline loom?

Don't bother with the HK loom. Fit the door speakers as direct replacements and they will work out the box. Fit the subwoofer and wire it in with an aftermarket amplifier like you would with fitting an aftermarket sub to a car, much easier to wire in.
That's what I did but with a pioneer head unit instead. You get much more control over the sub with an aftermarket amp such as Alpine or something. It's up to you if you want to go the loom route, but the none loom route would involve running 4 cables (power, left and right channels and the remote wire) down the side of the car tucked under the carpet which is the way I did it, if you were closer I'd say you could come and have a listen to what it sounds like. |

Managed to get this sorted. Far far easier than I thought, and I still get an OE HK system.
