Replacement CD player in car-wish to go original
Hi, my tourer came with a jvc cd player in the dash which does work ok, however, in the glove box is a multichanger unit which does not appear to do anything.
Question, how easy is it to return the car to standard, Rover cd/head unit and hook up the multi changer in a bid of getting it working, plus to have it all working off the steering wheel? |

It's very very easy. Assuming the current stereo didn't require any wiring mods, which is unlikely, then it is literally just a plug and play swap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Check the connector(s) on the car stereo loom. If it is a square 17 pin BMW connector, the original would have been a Harmony. If there are 2 ISO connectors (grey and brown), the original would have been a Symphony.
Only replacing the stereo with the same original type - Harmony or Symphony - is plug-and-play. There are wiring modifications needed if the different one is fitted. Last edited by raykay; 21st February 2017 at 08:30.. |
