Default Replacement CD player in car-wish to go original

Hi, my tourer came with a jvc cd player in the dash which does work ok, however, in the glove box is a multichanger unit which does not appear to do anything.

Question, how easy is it to return the car to standard, Rover cd/head unit and hook up the multi changer in a bid of getting it working, plus to have it all working off the steering wheel?

It's very very easy. Assuming the current stereo didn't require any wiring mods, which is unlikely, then it is literally just a plug and play swap.

Check the connector(s) on the car stereo loom. If it is a square 17 pin BMW connector, the original would have been a Harmony. If there are 2 ISO connectors (grey and brown), the original would have been a Symphony.

Only replacing the stereo with the same original type - Harmony or Symphony - is plug-and-play.
There are wiring modifications needed if the different one is fitted.

As said it could be real easy, also you could probably pick up a Symphony head unit for around £20-£30.
