I have had another look at your pictures, would you be so kind as to have a go at cleaning up the commutator, cut some strips of emery paper medium grade onto 10mm width and 20cm lengths, pull this round the commutator in a sawing action and see what it come up like, once cleaned scrape out the thin lines with a sharp pointed tool and post a pic up cheers Arctic

Also does the fan unit only fit the 2.5 KV6 or can I find one from any of the engine sizes available? Right now my wife is cursing the car as such, that your ears would turn to charcoal. Last edited by Sledge; 19th July 2016 at 10:39.. |

This is the best option for you.

The KV6 and diesel used the higher 450 watt motor. You cannot use a diesel control box on your car. Arctic can best advise you if you're thinking of buying a unit from a 1.8. Simon

I guess with the suggestions you guys have given, it will help me nail something down. What do you guys know of non OEM stuff, are there any I could put on my list (here I am thinking I'm going to have a massive list ) or should I avoid them at all costs?

Hi Rod.
I had a quick look how much it would cost to send a commutator / fan to Australia nearly £100 it looks like you will have to source one closer to home. You could always try Jules to see how much it would cost to have a Revotec fan link below http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=189409

Did you ever get this sorted out ? like I said above I had one I could of sent you but for the cost, shame you were not in the UK i have one of each fan for our cars, 1.8, 2.0, 2.5, and M47 i am sure in the next couple of months we will be seeing threads on fan issues again once the weather warms up. Anyways please do let us know your outcome cheers Arctic
