Default Absolute recommendation

Last week I bought a BT8500 Advance Call Blocker, had to register with V Media,
After putting all names and phone numbers on it, here is the beauty of this system it asks for a name and number and if it is not on the phones register it will not let the call through, but they can leave a message, if they do mention a name you then have the option of, accept/ always accept/ block / or send to the answer phone, or just ignore the call and hang up.
My phone has never been so silent absolute bliss, no more nuisance calls.

That sounds like a godsend. We've been getting lots of cold calls/surveys etc lately & I've no idea where they get my home number from!

I'm very careful to whom I give my home number, usually just friends, So I'm at a loss how all these overseas people get it!!!!

All I can say is the Telephone Preference Scheme has worked for me. I do not have nuisance calls either.

Ken, we have tried that system calls were still getting through, not as many but still a nuisance.

Not had any bother at all since I started putting the phone next to the radio or telly. They soon got the message and not had a niusance call for a year or more now. Best still cost me nothing, hee hee

I tend to just howl like wolf down the phone, knowing that these people wear headsets they tend to not ring me back for some reason.

I use this.... CM Security..

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...urity&hl=en_GB

And it's variants on my phone.... Works very well for blocking and screening calls. Tell you whether the call is from a sales site and gives you the option to block it. Plus the other functions are very advantageous

I have whistle next to the phone which I blow down the phone. Would love to see the callers face at the other end though
