Rover 75 1.8t auto with z&f remap
For sale a 55 plate rover 75 connoisseur/connoisseur se 1.8t auto with 40k miles
It started out life as an Se but I fell out of love with it for a number of reasons. Firstly I bought it and the head gasket failed. Not to be deterred, I replaced it and new stretch bolts but it failed again. This time I replaced the turbo with a brand new core ( cat was blocked causing the turbo to wear) replaced the belts and water pump had the head hardness checked and skimmed and measured the liner heights. Also replaced the cat with a good condition 2nd hand genuine cat. The liner heights were even but low, between about 0 and 0.01. Because of this I replaced it with the latest spec payen gasket. It was at this point I discovered that I had the dreaded sunroof leak and also a major leak into the boot. I had a sense of humour failure by this point and decided to scrap the car. As I have another low mileage 1.8t but a lower spec, I took the leather seats out of this one and put them in my other one. I then bought a 3rd 75, this time a mint low mileage cdti. Trouble is the black auto is way too good to scrap so over the last 2 months I have been sorting all the issues. Carpet out (gallons of water!!!!!!) and inside dried and inspected for any rust (nil). As the carpet was out I changed the handbrake compensator for a modified one so the handbrake works. Sunroof drains front and rear modified with a section of hose and the rubber ends cleaned. I then reassembled the car and it is lovely. Head gasket appears to be sorted (originally pressure in the header tank but after running extensively no residual pressure). Starts first time on the button. It has a noisy tappet but this quietness after a couple of minutes and can't be heard in the car. Never bothered me. Bodywork is in good condition with no rust anywhere. Couple of tiny car park dings but nothing of note. 16 inch alloys with good tyres. It is the only one of my 3 75's that is quiet on the road. The suspension ha no knocks and there is no sign of the top strut twangs (both my other 2 need replacing) Car has the z&f map on it and it flies. Nearly 190 bhp!!!! I believe this is currently the only 1.8t rover 75 auto with this map (plenty of 1.8t but mine was the first by z&f) Spec is as follows :- conn se auto without the leather seats or the lit visors. In addition it had the drivers intelligence pack (message centre ipk, auto wipers, auto dim mirror, rear parking sensors) and more airbags than standard. Has the traffic master ( no longer in use as I believe they have switched the system off now. Fully functioning sunroof. Original manual with new rover faux leather cover. Modifications done:- Shannon tube Gold fan resistor Sunroof drains Rear windscreen clip replaced and mods completed(silicone) Z&ftuning Plenum drain modification and inspection hole Modified handbrake compensator. Rear light seals removed cleaned, glued and replaced. Bonnet pull modification. Airbag connectors replaced under seat. Being mot'd on Tuesday, will come with 12 months (no tax). Any issues will be fixed. I would have kept it but can't justify 3 rover 75's You are welcome to come and view and see running but it is sorn at the moment so cannot be driven on the road (unless you come over on Tuesday as I am getting a days insurance to take it to the test centre. Any questions then please pm me with your phone number and I will answer any questions that you have. I would like £1400 but sensible offers will be considered. Thanks John

What a lovely looking car. Fairly priced, too, IMHO. I'll admit to being a little nervous of the K16 engines. But it does sound as though yours has been sorted out.
I'd gladly make a near offer, but the timing just isn't right, for me. Good luck with the sale. |

Passed its mot with flying colours. Advisory on the rear discs and pads, nothing else.
If I get somewhere near my asking price I will put new discs and pads(mintex) on so you have no worries at all.
