that's interesting - it adds a bit more evidence to the 60-70k Head Gasket lifespan theory

where you running OAT Coolant ? if so, maybe worth trying a change this time ?

Awful news.

Banana really doesn't know how lucky she is to have you as an owner, 4xHGF with the amount of love and care you lavish on her really would test the patience of a lesser mortal.

Hopefully she'll be back on the road really quickly and you won't be hit with too big a repair bill :-(

No warning other than the heater suddenly running cold, temp gauge on red, engine over heated".

Not a good idea to put cold coolant directly in an over heated engine block,
could cause block or head to warp.
