Default Base model radio removal

Hi

I've got a 75CDT Classic. Recently fitted a new UB pump and now of course the damn radio wont work since it needs a 4 digit code.

There are web sites that can provide the code but need the radios seriel number that is stamped on the chassis. So how do I remove the radio??

The haynes manuel talks about "special tools" to unlock the cage locks in order to slide the unit out.

Can anyone help?
