How you would tackle this would depend on how big the damp patch is, and where in the caravan it is

We've got a similar problem in our Avondale Argente.
Went away last year and noticed the wall above the front seat was soft. I am presuming the water is getting in where the awning rail meets the side of the van. I bought some seam sealer online and special 'flexi' silicone intended for caravans. I've simply not had the time to do it over the winter so we've just put the cover on her and it seems to have stopped. Will tackle when I have a free weekend and the weather brightens up. Agree that wood hardener sounds like a good course of treatment once the source of the leak has been located.

The thing is with caravans is that unless you can see damage on the exterior, then locating where the water ingress is on the inside without moving boards is virtually impossible,
Mine was the joint where the roof meets the wall, and it was down to the wooden framework where it had been stapled together, stapled had rotted thus causing a pin head hole in the aluminium shell, water seeped in over time and the rest is history. A guy charged me to seal it with flexi seal, that does not work, it simply masked the problem. If you value your van get the job done properly. Oh by, the way, usually above a seat there are windows... common fault is window seals leak.... the seal is rubber and again stapled in place, then a centre insert put in to hide staples, staples rot and damp occurs, easy job to replace seals If you have DIY Knowledge Read this, and this damage was a tiny hole: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=244654

A few years ago I bought an old ABI that was absolutely sodden. With advise from members on there (especially one called Wizard) I spent 6 months rebuilding it. Nearly 8 years later (and still replacing bits) it's still going strong
