Hi all sorry about the delay in replying... had been laid low for a bit and not up to the computer.

Hopefully you have the answers you needed Ned.
From my experience I found it much easier to use an earlier release version disk I had here than using the Hex trick. Like you I am also using the v32 update distribution disk, however to my knowledge there have been no actual changes in the software that is loaded for MK4 nav units since the v29 update distribution.

Remember that the v32 refers to the distribution disk version, not the software version for your specific nav unit… the distribution disk contains numerous software packages catering for all the various BMW and Mini units as well. A new release of a distribution disk does not necessarily mean that the software package for your particular unit has actually been changed or updated. Information on what changes have been made and to what software packages for a specific distribution disk can be found from the Bimmernav and other similar BMW boards.

Kiwirover you're right.

Improvement can only be obtained by updating the nav computer software ( V32) and the navigation disc( 2010).
I updated from a v29 to a v32 with a 2008 nav disc; no improvement...
When i updated to 2010 i got ia lot more features (radar, postcode search, quicker response when searching,)
System: Mk4 Dvd ,Bm24 radio module, original tv tuner and onboard monitor and Hans Schaper's clock module.

The only funny thing:When i swapped to the Mk4 there was no more DAY/NIGHT feature. Updating to V32 & 2010 the DAY/NIGHT feature was displayed again ,but the function is now for changing the color of the screen.

Cheers Mintman

The latest update software for the MK4 is V32. SW 4-1/02
this gives you voice activation for speed camera alerts, Day/Night Illumination as well as 7 Digit Postcode search with 2009 disc onward.
The 2010 Navteq DVD map disc has full TMC and advance warning of roadworks/hold ups up to 100 miles from your current location.
There are now many more POI sub headings including things like MacDonald's/Pizza Hut in the Restaurants and more headings than you can possibly use.

It seems a lot of the links mentioned in this thread no longer work.

The world has moved on I guess!

Searching the various BMW forums and the Nav ones in particularly may help.

I shall try and find alternative links myself and should I find then I will post them here.

The links for the software required (as of 21.04.2017) are:
Navtweak: http://neiloakley.com/BMW/navtweak.html
Imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com/
UltraIso: https://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/
the GTK+/WIN32 Runtime Environment which needs to be installed BEFORE running navtweak: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gla...e_mirror=netix

All run on Windows 10 (64 bit) with no issues so I presume that they'll also run on the 32 bit versions of the OS, as well as earlier versions of Windows, but this I haven't tested.
